Louise Vyent, a native of Holland has been living in the United States for almost three decades. She enjoyed a hugely successful career as a fashion model in the eighties and nineties. Having been featured on the covers of Glamour, Harpers Bazar, American Vogue and working in front of the camera with the best in the business; Avedon, Penn, Elgort and Meisel among others, it didn't come as a surprise that Louise began to take a greater interest in photography.
While working as a model Vyent always carried her little Leica with her, especially on location. Upon return she'd spend hours in the basement darkroom. Initially her interest lay with the documentary style work by artists such as Eisenstaedt, Bresson, Diane Arbus and Mary Ellen Mark.
Over the years Vyent has studied photography at ICP, SVA and Parsons and raised two children. Having left the darkroom behind she specializes in digital portrait and documentary style photography. In addition, Louise is currently enrolled at the School of Communication and Media Studies, at Montclair State University, where she takes a special interest in pr and health communication.
